I
paint geese because of their similarity with humans. The animals of my
imagination are not simply figures, they have human characteristics. They can
demonstrate jealousy, arrogance, snobbism, racism, they gossip, they can be
shy, curious, they help each other out and they love. I love to paint them in
their moods and the titles of my paintings are significant, such as "Cultural
Exchange" (African geese with domestic geese) "The Rite of Gossip", "The Plea",
"The Plot", "Let's Go! You Can Do It!" I see the Canadian geese from another
angle because they are wild. I like to demonstrate their pride and their
independence. The animals hold a large place in my life which is why I
particularly love to paint them and study them. More than anything, I love
them.
My landscapes invite serenity and calm. They rejuvenate the soul; in them there
is a place to rest in our otherwise hectic lives.
The paints reflecting on mysticism "Mystic" demonstrate the will-power and the strength of humans and animals in difficult times. These imaginative personages have pride and self-confidence.
Paintings such as these question us on our connection with
nature, how we share it, and the influence animals have on us. Is it necessary
to dominate what is natural? Domination kills the soul; it kills the essence by
which we all live.
My paintings come from within me, from my perception of things, how I see
things to be. What is seen through a large angle, a happy angle, whether
microscopic or zoomed in, can be taken in manner that counts, it is the honest
truth, the simplicity ?
